With the latest updates, the segfault doesn't happen anymore. Still,
evince uses a whole processor core for say half a minute on this Pendium
4, 1GB RAM computer. It uses 255 mib of memory after opening the
document (system monitor) and 480mib when generating the print preview
and afterthat. An "em

I wouldn't say dramatically. Evince seems to use a lot of memory (55 %
on my system), but I don't know if it is normal. When I try to print,
the cpu use reaches 100 %, the drops down and finally evince crashes. It
takes say a minute before it is so far.

Both are generated on Gutsy 32-bit. Obviously the problem isn't 64bit only.

Well, I just tried to print the attached pdf. First evince gets stuck

It started to work ok two days ago. Before, the steps were quite easy,
the icon change would not work for any "Custom application launcher".
It also wasn't possible to add any "Custom application launcher" to the
(upper) panel.
Maybe an update has solved it. Maybe there was something wrong in my
