Thanks for reporting the issue. Looks like a theme problem to me. Could you set
the theme to Ubuntu default human theme.
Set the ownership of the home folder[with contents] to unicolored, before doing
anything !
( For this use the command sudo chown -R unicolored /home/unicolored

Firefox is not part of gnome and don't follow the HIG in many points (use of
ctrl+tab, unexpected behaviours, etc).
It is *very* unlikely we fix this one this way.
