for about a half-second before disappearing and then being replaced by
the animation of the apps swooping in from the 'show applications'
button. not a huge deal, just a display bug.

I can confirm. I am running Lubuntu 13.10, and I get the same error

I doubt that it is reproducible. If it could have been, it would have
taken four months. Interestingly, though, is that when I updated to
Ubuntu 11.04, the issue was no longer occurring.

All the preferences I use seem to work now, except one. "Compress
weekends in month view" on the "Display tab" still does nothing. It
still always shows the weekends compressed. I want them uncompressed.

12/24hr option. Even though I have 12 hour selected, I still only have
the 24 hour format to work with when making a new appointment.

Work week preference is not the only one not responding for me. Time

I tried to make a backtrace (my first time), I don't know if it worked
right as I had to force quit out of GDB (see attached). Trying to
right-click CDs from the desktop also causes the icons to disappear.

I was tired when I first posted this bug. It turns out, this is a
problem with using cat to record from a PVR device (cat /dev/video0 >
/home/$USER/video.mpeg). Because the resulting file is without
pertinent header info, Nautilus freaks out when trying to get its
properties.
