What I did is just a workaround, but I don't think that many users use Unity
with transparent panel and without AppMenu, so it's fixed for 90% of users.
Maybe it'll also be efficient to change "if (proxy != NULL)" check to

Also, when using Unity 2D, desktop menu is not visible by default, but
if you click on the left indicator and press the left-arrow-key, it will
be shown. (Or should I file a new bug for this?)
