On my Freedom Netbook I have an integrated venus webcam, in ubuntu 9.04
the camera worked perfectly. After upgrading to 9.10 the webcam only
shows in black and white and does not show up as a V4L device so I can't
find a way to force it down from V4L2.

Ok, so I was just told to install v4l2ucp and update the saturation,
that appears to have helped. However why did it work without any
fiddling on 9.04 and not on 9.10?

usable, I.e. I can click on the correct gnome-panel areas and I can get
functionality but cannot see
