our business process. All files are low-case in outr network now. Upper or
"mixed"-case in no longer allowed, so theres no need to rename files to change

Hggdh, is there anything I could do to get this solved? It's a really

It is very hard to get a backtrace from it, cause I cannot find a way to run a
second instance of gnome panel and other problems.
But after this ton of updates today, it is generating a crash file at each
crash.

Hi hggdh, I agree with you. If we create (or receive) a new file, for
example, with a new mime-type and an unknown extension, we should be
able to mail it anyway. I think any patch should be in the sense of not
crashing if mime-type is not recognized.
One other thing I would like to understand was
Hggdh, mcrha helped me again today, we found out that gnomevfs-info
123.xls was responding with an empty mime-type for some reason. We came
up with a fix which I tested in 8 machines here and it fixed the problem
in all of them:
1)mv ~/.mime.types ~/.mime.types.bkp
2)sudo mv /etc/mime.types /etc/m

Yep, just tested it and it really is not meant for remote volumes.

I will try ntfs3g later today, however, I already found other people on
the net trying to use remote volumes with ntfs3g and it seems it is
designed for local *partitions", not remote volumes.
Also, you have already seen that I can go through console to the cifs
mounted volume and rename the files
It's really important for me to have Evo working. I will help as much as I can.
EIther options are ok for me, just tell me how you wanna do this.

Yes, I have done all of yesterday and today updates and cold-booted. The
problem persists thou.
And you're right: Unsetting G_DEBUG mkes it possible to use Evolution
(it won't crash on sending e-mails and acessing Edit / Preferences).
