I have a 6 Megabit connection.
I have realized that it takes over ten seconds after opening the directory with
the video download until the gnome-video-thumbnailer is started which consumes
nearly all cpu time he can get. After some time the process exits which results
in normal cpu usage for so
BTW I don't think that this is a Totem problem. I think Nautilus is the
app which starts gnome-video-thumnailer so it has to be fixed. Maybe
Nautilus shouldn't create Thumbnails for videos/files which are in use
(only writing, reading would be no problem).

general since it happens for every video file which is downloaded at the
moment and which is shown in Nautilus. I have this problem with

If I open a link in mail program. im or something like that and Firefox
is not running it is started and gets a focus but if Firefox is already
running the link gets loaded in Firefox but the mail program still has
the focus so you think nothing
Why make another bug if this ist Gnome specific and not and not Firefox
specific? I can make a bug for every app which has no workaround but
this ist quite useless. KDE and of course Windows hasn't this problem
afaik.

I have the same problem with Feisty but I have read somewhere that the
same problem appears under Windows so it seems to be a Sony ACPI bug. If
I check the battery info under proc design capacity and last full
capacity are the same so it seems to work. Maybe there is a workaround

I haven't tested it in a while but I think it wouldn't work with higher
resolution monitors. ATM I am using the standard i810 driver for LFP and
the i810-modesetting driver for external. Interesting point is since I
created a script to switch between this drivers the resolution is always
correct on

monitor since every time you use the lfp it has the wrong resolution. Is

Great idea but one problem. I am using ntfs-3g and gnome moves all removed
files to the usual trash position but since the NTFS partition is on my
internal hard disk and umounted only on shutdown I never got this trash clear
message. The trash directory consists 15 GB on my hard disk.

I am using an Sony Vaio TX2 Laptop. After installation of Ubuntu Gnome shows
the wrong resolution. The correct one (1366x768) is saved in xorg.conf and it
is used but the virtual size is set to 1368x768 so the monitor moves two pixel
every time you reach one monitor end.
