Daniel, thanks for your feedback. I've installed the four packages. After
restarting my user session (it crashed again after installing ... so Mutter was
restarted automatically ;) ).
Everything is working again. Thank you very much!

export SHELL_DEBUG=all
gdb --args gnome-shell --replace --wayland --nested
and got attached messages after challenging the crash.
