WORKAROUND:
Refrain from using large thumbnails, =150%
If you must thumbnail a large folder, put the kettle on, sit back and enjoy a
coffee or tea while you're waiting.
BTW: this bug also annoys me
:)

Thumbnails for 200% zoom are regenerated each time a folder is opened.
Hmmm, I've always found it messy to create Shortcuts to folders using
nautilus.
For example, I like to have a shortcut to my home folder or to
Filesystem on the desktop...
I can middle-drag the folder there, and get a link.. or type ln -s [shortcut]
[folder]
But then I have a link, so when I

It seems that it's supposed to open a right-pane to show the image
preview for the icon, but if you select a non-image file or folder, it
opens the preview quickly then closes it so the dialog gets wider?
I'm not a developer, but this issue exists for sure.

Select custom icon weired behavoir
The main issue here is resolved...
I can right-click and extract successfully from all the multi-file and
single file rar archives I could find laying around on my hard drives.
The secondary issue (with the extract dialog inside of file-roller not
responding to extract unless you pick a folder)
Well I've been using hardy release for a while now and have not seen
this, so it may be fixed.

everything was working correctly, fresh boot, copied some files around,

this was with compiz...
then I noticed the vertical sync was out causing tearing on the video
so, annoyed, I stopped the video, went to Appearance prefs and disabled

Hi,
Since then I noticed an issue with file roller... when you click extract in the
gui, it brings up a folder chooser
if you click the extract button on the dialog *it does nothing*...
UNTIL you have to go out of the starting folder, go back into it by double
clicking the actual folder,
Hi, I noticed this today..
also:
It shows incorrectly the timezones of say Brisbane and Melbourne both as
-2 while one of them should be -3 (because it's not in DST)... the
little analog clocks are correct however...
** Attachment added: note see brisbane and melbourne
it attempts to play, but shows a corrupted display in the video window,
and cdrom0 in the playlist...
The progress bar doesn't go forward, and the corrupted display doesn't
change.. however, the application does not hang, you can still Stop
and open new file, or close, or whatever.

As a comparison, this is what should happen, when you choose Movie

right-clicking DVD - open with movie
Just a side note: I just noticed that after chooseing Movie Play Disc
'DISC NAME' from the menu, it disappears from the menu... you have to
restart totem to get it to appear on the menu again.
thanks for your time.

right-clicking DVD - open with movie player fails
On some DVDs it works anyway, but the key thing is totem behaves
differently for no good reason, and sometimes it doesn't work.

i got the same gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in
g_datalist_id_set_data_full() while playing a movie in totem and
pressing the volume-down button to adjust the volume, the settings
daemon crashed, and restarted. (the volume didn't go down as normal, so
I held down the button)

Confirmed, with the current hardy build from Feb 15th, I cannot stretch

Put the attached link file on desktop, right-click Stretch Icon,
resize handles appear, but cannot be moved.

This appears to effect compiz and totem combination only. (Although I've
seen compiz turned on and no flickering a couple times...)
In the end, I turned compiz off, it wasn't worth it for what I do,
watching movies, browsing the web etc.

fullscreen controls flicker on and off
so for anyone with the same issue (a7x etc)
workaround 1 to fix flickering: use metacity instead of compiz (turn desktop
effects off)
workaround 2 to fix fullscreen black-bars on widescreen video: use the keyboard
shortcut (F11) to enable fullscreen

fullscreen controls flicker on and off
confirming this issue, I try to play mp3 file via network shares (SMB) and it
opens totem-xine briefly and then shuts.
Annoying when you have your music stored on a network server, and want to
quickly preview a track.

Totem-xine crashes when trying to play mp3 from network drive
I'm now using kernel 2.6.23.12 and the driver installer from nvidia...
(neither included with gutsy I know) but it works fine now.. with

thinks i'm not running a restricted driver)
but yeah I think this will be fixed with
sorry, I couldn't find a bug that was the same, so I logged a new one...
I've noticed since that very occasionally (maybe once in 15 loads) it
will not update the fullscreen correctly, the background (black bars)

sorry, I'm using ubuntu (GNOME) 7.10, with latest updates when the bug
