again.
Initially the cursor of the annotation input box is blinking, but no
input is possible.
This happens in Oneiric using either x

This is a "me too".
It is very easy to reproduce this issue. I did it in a virtual machine.
After installing ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso and adding xfce4 via apt-
get, no ~/.config/menus exists for an xfce user.
After starting alacarte and quitting it immediately by hitting ,
the directory ~/.c
Adding another 3 comments (this time not by cut+paste, but keyboard
input) 2 were fine, one had zero content.
So cut+paste may have no impact.

Making quite a few annotations, I realized that after saving a copy,
closing and opening the saved file, approx. 50 % of all annotations had
a zero content.
AFAIK all annotations were in place. There color was fine (I used three

hyperair,
thanks for responding.
As you suggested, I tried using a "fresh" user - but nothing changed.
I than found bug #42052, a very old bug, which seems to be still alive
in Intrepid - at least for xfce-users.

I just found:
lulu:/home/bav> /usr/lib/gnome-screensaver/gnome-screensaver-dialog --verbose
[gs_debug_init] gs-debug.c:106 (16:55:21): Debugging enabled
Segmentation fault
lulu:/home/bav>
So gnome-screensaver-dialog segfaults. And it is quite easy to reproduce
the bug.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
On Hardy with latest patches as of today (08-05-20) gnome-screensaver
stays always black. I have to switch to tty to continue.
Workaround: use xscreensaver instead of gnome-screensaver.
Kernel reports lots of segfaults:
