Hmm, not sure what I did wrong last time, but you're right: Uninstalling
i965-va-driver does resolve the issue. I'll report the crash at the
intel-vaapi-driver repo as suggested.

Hmm, so removing i965-va-driver did not do anything, even after a
reboot. What did work is to remove gstreamer1.0-vaapi. What are the side
effects of this? Does it basically just mean that anything using
gstreamer would have HW acceleration disabled?
It's a little bit entertaining to see the

My problem with evince seems to have solved itself. I don't know if this
is due to a recent evince and/or cups update, but everything seems to be
working fine now, including printing to network printers via samba.

Added my apport above, as I'm experiencing the exact same problem with
evince. I've tried printing via samba to two network printers from
evince, both with the same result. CPU load goes up to 100% for a
process called pdftopdf (one process for each print job) and print
dialogue says Bad pattern.
All items in my Input tab is greyed out, I don't have a Connector
field halfway down the page, and the box Choose a device for sound
input is completely empty. See a screenshot as an attachment.
I read through all the advice I could find, it is not simply muted.
Please help.

had to force closing the program. I have no idea why this happened.
