I think the problem is caused by a combination of GNOME 2.24.1 and the new Kernel "2.6.27-*-generic". I believe this because, for other problems (Hardware Compatibily), I decided to Downgrade the Kernel at the "2.6.24.21-generic". (In other words, Hardy heron's last Kernel). And now, the sound works perfectly. (Sometimes it delays but it's imperceptible). When the last Intrepid Ibex's Kernel (2.6.27-9-generic) was released I tried it but the delay was always present. Now I'm using Heron's kernel. I hope I have helped someone..
