Public bug reported:
In normal situation the gnome-shel uses more than 560 MBs of RAM. My
systems has 8GB RAM, Ubuntu 18.04.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04
Package: gnome-shell 3.28.4-0ubuntu18.04.3
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-45.37~18.04.1-generic 5.3.18
Uname: Linux 5.3.0-4
The bug is still present for me in 16.04 as well.
Dual monitor - ctrl-alt-l or turn screen off when inactive do not turn
off the screen.
The workaround suggested from fugounashi works i.e., xset dpms force off but
it is not permanent.
The problem will come back after a while.

Yes this is close to what i would like to see. So it would be good to

It is more than a feature missing than a bug.
System monitor should be able to set to display the CPU load in one

For exaple in a 4 core CPU when one core is loaded 100% and the other 3
are idle, it should be the choice to display that with a num

When you copy a file from nautilus to usb stick with the "send to"
option, window hang and does not respond. more important is the fact
that you don't have any progress bar so you just wait to finish the
copying, to respond again.
