It seems this particular bug report has little to do with the problem we are
having except the error message. As Sennaista pointed out there is a problem
with the symbols file, someone else has already found the minor syntax errors
which caused this, here is the
Since I have this error I can no longer change my layout using keyboard
shortcuts ( Alt + Shift in my case )
Also whenever I try to change the shortcut for layout toggle, I am met with the
error message. Same message shows up whenever I log in first, from suspension,
or from a locked screen.
