I'm sorry if I was a little bit too fast submitting my comment before I
really made sure it worked. I'm also just trying to help to solve this

I think this was solved by the update of flashplugin-installer to
version 10.1.53.64ubuntu10.04.1 released yesterday. At least it looks
like the update fixed the issue on my system (Lucid). But I think
Youtube also made some changes to their website so the problem could
still exist somewhere else.

Ok same thing here. I'm using Lucid Lynx 10.04 up-to-date version. I
tried to burn some mp3-files on a cd-r. It looked like Brasero would
burn the CD: It created the image and showed a progress bar which said
Burning tracks to disk or something like that. The drive didn't do

I just found bug 83142, which is about a very similar problem in feisty.
Uncommenting of some lines in locale.dir and compose.dir, as suggested
there, solved the problem, so I assume the main problem is the broken
locale (bug 23435). Therefore I close the bug report.

OK, now that you made me test some more, I noticed the same happens in
other apps, too: Nautilus (only in the address bar, not when renaming
files), generic Open/Save As dialogs, Tomboy, GRAMPS ... So I suppose
you are right and this is a gtk bug.

sites had working weather information. However, America/Los Angeles

Hello,
i can confirm this on my eeePC with hardy. But it only occurs if i
delete one panel of gnome and tweak the other to fit good on the small
screen of eeepc. The workaround mentioned by Ric Flomag seems to work
right now.
