hunt it down to a simple integer-64/32bit-truncation bug...
sprintf was using "%lu" (on powerpc sizeof(long)==4) on a 64bit integer,
which on little endian has the simple semantic of taking the lower 32bit
word, but on big-endian
well I took a look at the code and the changelog, and found out for some
questionable reasons, the behaviour was changed from displaying the
numeric worth of all investments to a color-trend based on the worth
change...
but looking at the code itself revealed, that the calculation seem
rather brok
additional note I forgot:
"row[updater.VARIATION]" seems to return the absolute change, not the
relative change in percent

Iirc I could workaround by printing it to pdf, and then feeding that
directly to cups (via xpp or plain lp) and telling the paper
orientation...
alas I can't test it anymore, since I installed feisty whose evolution
doesn't seem to have the ability to print landscape calendars at all...

can't tell yet, as evince dies on me with a segfault with todays
jaunty/ppc when trying to open that postscript file :-(

This was noticed when ssh'ing from a Hardy installation to an Intrepid
installation; performing a locally forwarded "ssh -X localhost" session
on the Intrepid host itself didn't expose the issue

curiously, "xrandr --version" always reports "Server reports RandR version 1.2"
(i.e. also when performed via ssh -X)
but when performing a simple "xrandr --query" it fails over "ssh -X":
$ xrandr --version
Server reports RandR version 1.2
$ xrandr --query
X Error of failed request: B
btw, maybe this bug is better assigned to libxrandr2 instead of gtk+?

jfyi, tried with intrepid's evolution 2.23.91, and the landscape layout
seems to work, but curiously when using anything else than 'Print to
file' the text is missing...
