Ok everyone, I've attempted to use the update manager in a live-usb, and it
shows the update for gnome-software. So, a fresh install should receive the
update without using the console.
It looks like that those who've tested the patch will have to update via:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get
H... I've just noticed that by running 'sudo apt-get upgrade' shows
that there is an update for the gnome-software, but the GUI (Software
Updater) doesn't show it. Maybe it's lacking a dependency.

The isn't an update for ubuntu yet. Have someone received the update
through the official Ubuntu updates? (not through the xenial-proposed
channel)

Please, change the status of this bug. The fix of gnome-software
(ubuntu) isn't in the official repository, it's just in the xenial-
proposal repository. Why is this taking so long?

I can confirm that the xenial-proposed version of gnome-software fixes
this bug. I've just tested it with the 'atom-amd64.deb' package
downloaded from atom.io and the dropbox package too.

It looks like this bug is fixed!
Today I updated Ubuntu and I've noticed that there was a new patch for
gtk2-engines-pixbuf... so I decided to test f-spot using new wave theme and
there were no crashes.
I've restarted my computer after update.
Can someone please confirm this?

f-spot.exe
I forgot to mention that I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala!

This is what i've done:
1.- sudo dbus-monitor --system
2.- loaded users-admin and deleted the user.
here is the output of 'sudo dbus-monitor --system':
signal sender=org.freedesktop.DBus - dest=:1.62 serial=2
path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameAcquired
Ok Milan, this is (i think) a very detailed info:
'sudo dbus-monitor --system' output:

signal sender=org.freedesktop.DBus - dest=:1.61 serial=2
path=/org/freedesktop/DBus;
ok, this is what i got:

I've reinstalled Ubuntu again!
The following is from a fresh reboot:
1.- 'sudo which perl' output:
-
/usr/bin/perl
I repeated the whole procedure again and:
10.- 'sudo which system-tools-backends' output is:
/usr/sbin/system-tools-backends

Yeah applying the patch (submitted by Ricardo) to the source of
system-tools-backends works very nice.
This is what i did:
1.- sudo apt-get source system-tools-backends and decompress it.
2.- sudo patch /home/jfoc/system-tools-backends-2.8.2/Users/Users.pm
mm could this be a library bug?
