Sorry that I didn't get enough information reported in my bug submittal. The deleted files and folders in question were large and by the time that more info was requested I had already deleted them from the USB Drive using Windows. I am figuring that it had something to do with Windows permissions that were left over when they were moved to the USB drive. I am guessing that Linux was careful to not delete the files since they showed different ownership. It was surprising that I still couldn't remove them even when I tried as root. Since I think that this issue would typically only be a problem on dual boot systems it would seem like the quick fix is to delete those types of files from Windows.
