Noticed this a few days ago. I've tried a few different combinations of settings and couldn't get it to stay on. One thing I noticed was that when I set the screensaver to "Never" the screen dimming takes affect about 1-2 seconds after you stop doing anything. I would not be so annoyed by this,

I stumbled upon this issue when attempting to work around the suspend bug (system always suspends even when told not to). So, +1 from me. Also, noticed that when the setting in question is set to "Never" it also makes text input nearly impossible due to the screen continually going dark. -- You
