I have this problem too, but the problem isn't really in gimp, it's in
gphoto2 (or possibly deeper, in the USB stack). This will get you some
diagnostics:
gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=gphoto.log -L
You may need to install gphoto2 first:
sudo apt-get install gphoto2

Cool - just that I had this problem in Gutsy, where the only solution
was to /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon stop before launching epiphany (see
attached dup 159141). The problem disappeared when I apt-get dist-

I'm using Hardy and epiphany works fine. Can someone still running Gutsy

I have installed the gutsy "proposed" epiphany (and other) updates
(2.20.1-0ubuntu1), which now allows me to install the epiphany dbgsym
packages from the ddeb repo Pedro mentioned at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash above. I've also installed
the following dbgsym packages to try to get
ddebs installed, gdb backtrace now attached.

Progress: removing the (unrelated) epiphany game and rebooting fixed the
problem on my work machine:

I would still call this a bug, if indeed the epiphany game and epiphany

other machines
