I have the same problem - can't take a screenshot of a section of the
screen because it is shadowed in red as you can see in the screenshot.

I was recently printing off lots of PDF files using Evince. All of them
printed off OK except one - which the printer refused to print on
numerous occasions, coming back with error messages each time.
im seeing this too since upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10... this is a nasty bug
as I have to hard shutdown my computer each time it occurs!
