Ran across the issue in lucid 10.04. Could not delete a picture from a different partition in the same harddrive (NTFS-formatted). The drive is mounted so that my user account has read/write access to it. Workaround: Made a .Trash-1000 folder manually to the partition root directory (my UID is 100
