Indicator support for Empathy is a distro patch for ubuntu, so the
version in ppa:telepathy doesn't support the messaging indicator. You
will need to switch back to the default version in karmic to get that.

latest upload, did include a problem related to escaping message content

This change seems very unlikely to cause a regression, and it does make
the boot experience look much better for more users. The change
consists of switching from multiple compressed images (one per
resolution) to a single uncompressed image. The end result is actually

wishlist. I would really like to enable it and I suspect there will be
enough stuff needing clutter for karmic+1 that it won't be an issue.

I am seeing the same thing when I click Apply system wide. I assume
there should be some service that uses PolicyKit and dbus service
activation to apply that, which we aren't shipping.

This is really bad with skype that leaves a trailing program live and
signed on that is not obvious to the user at all. You cannot restart
skype because it creates a new instance.
