Comparing to other workarounds yours is the most safe (its seen that it won't
affect anything) and easy to enable/disable.

As for me, solution via m17 don't work at all - it changes only
indicator, but not a keyboard layout - it still types in english even
for "Russian (kbd (m17))". It also doesn't show Keyboard Layout Chart
properly - when this button is pressed, it shows window with English
(US) chart.

As for me, when layout switching is set to Ctrl-Shift, it affects Ctrl-
Shift- hotkeys. It wasn`t a problem in 13.04.
