Public bug reported:
Upgrading to edgy, my video worked fine (both gstreamer and xine).
Yesterday it stopped working - all I now get is a black/no video output.
Might be related to bug #71488.
** Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided

Totem shows
Public bug reported:
I often would like to move files away from my harddrive to a dvd. I have
to drag the files onto the dvd creator - burn them and the manually
remove them from the drive. It would be far nicer if I could force to
move the files to the dvd using the shift key and after the burn
I installed alsa-oss and libesd-alsa0 and now it works. Whereas I think
it's installing the latter that fixed the problem. Could anyone tell me
what the difference between esd and esd-alsa is? I previously thought
esd used alsa as it's output no matter what...

It might be present in edgy when you install from scratch - but I
upgraded from dapper and it was NOT installed. I had to do this
manually. Therefor IMHO this is a configuration problem - I'd call it a
bug...

Public bug reported:
After upgrading from dapper to edgy I don't get any sound in totem-gstreamer
anymore. Neither in mpg files nor in avi (with mp3 encoding). So it's probably
not a problem of the embedded audio format.
Also I get a sound at startup which means that esd is running.
I'd assume
After upgrading to edgy it seems to work - driver updates are a nice
thing ;)
