I tried this by making my resolv.conf point at a non-existant machine
(eg 192.168.1.99 where no such machine is connected to the network).
nettool hung for a minute or so but then came back with an error saying
the address could not be resolved.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce this crash. If you still can,
please generate another backtrace with libglib2.0-0-dbg and
libgtk2.0-0-dbg installed. Using a debug build of gnome-nettool would
