I have see this exact same behavior with my iphone and whatever the
latest Ubuntu releases are (I found this bug looking for solutions). If
you need more information I will provide it.

This backtrace was produced by attaching gdb to the nautilus process,
then dragging a file from the desktop into a tree-view nautilus window.
I ran gdb from a console, since this causes the X server (and my X
session) to reset.
I am using gnome WM.
