When I attempt to switch users, the system hard locks (i.e. The only way
to free the system was to hit the reset button).
Specs of possible interest:
1. Ubuntu Dapper with all the latest patches (Upgraded from Breezy).
2. ATI Radeon 9800 pro with

Dave, On a hunch, I started with installing the debug package for GDM.
The only line I see of importance in the messages log is:

I just tried the same proceedure with gnome-screensaver. The system
logs did not report anything during a crash.
BTW, I do not think the error message stated above has anything to do
with the problem at hand (Researched the issue on the Net).
