I can confirm this problem with nautilus and samba shares using nautilus
2.22.3 along with a few other problems.

Removal of libpam_smbpass leads directly to nscd issue after next
reboot. nscd may be removable after rebbot in amd64 but removal is
possible with 386i after reboot. Exploration ongoing...
