xbindkeys is a good workaround, too, but still this is annoying.

I'd like to try resetting all the settings for rhythmbox (on feisty) and
retry the magnatune plugin, but I don't know how to get rid of all
rhythmbox specific settings in my system. Do I need gconf-editor for
that? Any advice?

Resetting the configuration didn't help. Neither did compiling newer
rhythmbox (for feisty) from gutsy source package.

Whenever I click the Magnatune-source in the left pane, it starts to
read magnatune directory (or database). The progressbar moves back and
