No, this has only happened recently. And only on some videos.
Maybe it is worth mentioning that this problem seems to occur from videos of a
same "batch", that share encoding characteristics.
These are h264 for video.
AC-3 (?) for audio.
With a mkv container.

Tested on a Dell netbook (1024x600) and a Macbook Pro (1920x1200). Seems
to work very well on both, some minor jpeg compression artifacts are
still visible, but to much lesser extent than previously. Overall, the
background is much smoother.
Would be good if someone could also test it at 16bpp and
ia ALSAMIXER to re-enable the beep after each

This is a really weird bug, looks like the size of the "Login" button is
defined independently of other buttons. The problem does not seem to

This is still an issue in Karmic. The notification says "Battery

Mac OS (tiger) uses "Create archive of [whatever was selected]". It is
very difficult to understand for new users as well as for people coming
from the Windows "Compressed (zipped) files" world. So the problem we're
facing is that "Archive" is the only correct way of describing the
general category
Dimming does not seem like an optimal solution - the icons will look as
if they've simply been selected, rather than cut. I think they should
become semi-transparent instead.

And the bug is waiting for the fix!
Since there is no better solution than "Eject", this is what we should use. It
may not be perfect, but it's much better than "unmount".
Also, I suggest moving this option up (mockup attached
en saying "Click places, then home"

Jaunty, and if so, what are the steps?

Lack of hover state for this icon makes it feel non-clickable. Click
action does not feel right either, as you don't see any immediate
feedback (e.g. color or bg change).
I'd suggest making the icon glow on hover (similar to folder icon
behaviour) and go darker on click.

I think it should be "Home Folder" throughout, using the user's name
means that the same functionality has a different name every time. Open
for discussion though.
