Successful login sound (Ubuntu theme) can be disabled (on Maverick 10.10) via: rename desktop-login.ogg (/usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo) to desktop-login.ogg_bak for the drums rename system-ready.ogg to system-ready.ogg_bak It's a regression & should be fixed - the GUI methods do not work. IMO
