I also get this warning but my situation is worse as Firefox freezes any
time I click on a menu item, Bookmarks Toolbar item or right-click on a
text box. Since this bug does not mention freezing, only annoying error

Kfind is not installed in Ubuntu by default (though it may be in Kubuntu). To
add Kfind to Ubuntu, got to System > Administration > Synaptic package manager
(enter administrative password) > Search: kfind

Hmm.. When using Places > Search for files in MY_BOOK, I do get results
if I don't use wild cards, e.g. if I just search for Name contains: AVI
without the "*." at the front. Not intuitive to people who are used to
wild cards for partial file names, but it does work. (I know, strictly

I should have mentioned that both in Nautilus and Places > Search for
files, I did select Look in folders: MY_BOOK. Still no search results,
though.
Also, Nautilus can browse and view the files on the USB HD without
problems. It's only the Search that does not work.
