I ran a program which wrote a stdout line of ~1 characters. The line
is emitted but scrollback becomes extremely slow. The screen grays out
and it takes ~10 sec to page down.
The program I was running was 'pi' - a sample program with

I am very sorry, the problem was occurring on a fat32 filesystem. I
still think it is a valid problem: even though the base FAT32 filenames
are only case-insensitive 8.3 format, the extended information for long,
case-sensitive filenames is clearly being stored on top of this
somewhere. I maintain
I was seeing this too. Using chown to reassign the files to me worked
fine.
In my own cack-handed attempt to remove files in my wastebasket owned
by root, I started a 'sudo nautilus' session and clicked on 'Deleted
Items' in the sidebar. The window grayed out and did not come back. It
appeared

/apps/nautilus/desktop/trash_icon_visible = true), and then emptied
deleted items.
Expected: desktop icon changes from 'full' to 'empty'.
What happened: desktop icon did not change.

This is still a problem - and it is quite annoying. Is there any move to
address this issue, please?
