I think this problem is not strictly limited to restoring backups but
happens in general when upgrading from an earlier version of evolution
(e.g. the one in Precise) to 3.6.0 (in Quantal).
While calendar and contact data is still there, account information
somehow got lost during the upgrade.

I just confirmed that this bug was caused by the homedir being a symlink
which is not handled correctly by apparmor.
Disabling apparmor for telepathy as explained above works, but a better
solution is to add the real path of the home directories to the line
starting with @{HOME} in /etc/apparmor.
This is definitely caused by apparmor. As a workaround one can disable
the telepathy apparmor profile by running
aa-disable usr.lib.telepathy
and then kill all processes related to telepathy (telepathy-logger,
mission-control-5, ...).

This is broken since the upgrade to oneiric. The account information in
.mission-control/accounts/accounts.cfg is still present, but somehow
empathy doesn't read it in nor does it save new accounts to it.
In my case the home folder is a symlink to another folder, could this be
caused by that? Or m
The problem seems to be resolved in Oneiric, at least I wasn't able to
reproduce it so far.

I just upgraded to Natty and I'm experiencing the same bug. Would it

I've had this problem on another laptop with a core2duo once as well. It also
uses a SSD.
So it does appear to be an SSD loading issue.
Something gets loaded to quickly and the core i7 makes it happen all the time.

I also have a SSD. So has my other laptop which has also a nVidia chip but uses
a Core2Duo instead of a Core i7 and works perfectly fine.
Looks like a problem with the combination of a SSD with the nVidia driver and
the Core i7.

Same here killing and starting gnome-settings-daemon as root returned the theme

Nautilus still looks bad and the indicator icons still remain as the were.
It does start to hog my CPU though (gnome-settings-daemon) and remains running

Same here, this issue still happens to me although it seems to be less
