I'm still on version 3.0 of Nettools. I believe the issue is fixed in
version 3.1. The newer version isn't available to me in the Repositories
and I'm unwilling to add a PPA for this.

@Ronnie, Agreed. I feel it's a little excessive to suggest upgrading
your whole OS in order to fix a little bug like this. If a patch has
been issued, it should surely be pushed out to every currently supported
release that is affected by the bug.

I'm experiencing similar, however I don't have the screen locked (i.e. I
don't need to type in my password after the screensaver has activated).
I'm also running Gnome-Shell.
After ten mins or so, my screen blanks (as I don't have any screensaver
set). When I move the mouse or touch a key to activ
I experienced this when launching XChat tonight though I'm not sure if
that was just coincidence. I'm running Oneiric with all the updates
available from this morning.

I experienced this problem after installing all the latest updates for
Oneiric then restarting. After I logged in again, I immediately opened
the terminal to install some new software and this notification flashed
up.
