I've configured Google talk account in Empathy. Sometimes when new
message is received, it shows sender as myself in the message
notification applet in systembar(I do not know the exact terminology)

Surprisingly I faced this bug now in 14.04 ubuntu. It's weird that it
returned after so many years. I've attached screenshot.

Its happening for me in 13.10 x86_64. I have to remove and add google
account several times in a week to keep using it.

I configured google calendar in evolution and enabled displaying event
notification in gnome calendar. When there is alarm, it shows generic
text like this is even notification instead of showing actual event

I just installed evolution and added google calendar in it. It started
showing reminders of all past events after downloading the calendar. It
shows reminder for each and every past event instead of showing only
upcoming events as per appro
I also encountered same issue. The setting is confusing. It has option
to connect on startup but it doesn't connect until empathy is started
manually.

I have latest updates and still facing the issue.
When new message is received, I see message indicator. I select the message
from there which opens chat window but there's no message there. If I select
previous conversations, I can see messages there. This usually happens when
