I've been using Google Calendar with Evolution for some time.
The address entered into Evolution is of the form:
webcal://www.google.com/calendar/ical/...
Events on my google calendar appear when you click the date/time/calendar gnome
applet or use the Evolution calendar ta

Binary package hint: audacity
After upgrading from Dapper to Edgy, all UI text is missing from
audacity (except a few things like window title, numbers, status bar
caption). So for example, all menus are blank. If it's relevant I'm
using British English on a x86 machine.

Ah, ok that works. The acceleration issue I mentioned is just it
complaining about not supporting Xv if you try to enable it.

I have the same problem - lock screen no longer works since upgrading from
Dapper to Edgy. AFAICT my hardware (ATi Mobility Radeon X1300) doesn't support
Option "VideoOverlay" "on"
with the fglrx drivers packaged with Edgy (it won't do acceleration when you
have it on). So I can't use that so
