After installing 3.5.0-18-generic in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise from official
repository it seems to be fixed on my Thinkpad T500.

works - ~9 brightness steps instead of ~5 steps
dmesg: thinkpad_acpi: detected a 8-level
earlier network-manager-icon in gnome-panel was scrambled and 'show desktop' -
icon not fully visible. after that i took a screenshot and network-manager-icon
repaired itself but not 'show desktop'-icon (see attachment).
If i execute 'killall gnome-panel' many times it randomly (nearly cyclical)

If I choose an action for suspend button in power management preferences -
general-tab, both keys FN+4 (for suspend-to-ram) and FN+12 (suspend-to-disk)
do the same action of my choice. May be one cause

I have same bug on my ibm t42 ati mobility 7500 32MB. Therefore i opened
#437117 bugreport, which is a duplicate of this bug.
It only appears with ati renderacceleration XAA not EXA. I use XAA because it
has more performance with karmic koala...
