mellofello, that's really interesting. I'll try that out.
I'm still looking for a way to logout cleanly, closing all programs,
until this is fixed. I've now tried the commands "gnome-session-save
--logout" & "gnome-session-save --force-logout".
(The deprecated command "gnome-session-save --kill -
ThinkPad T500, Natty 64bit: I turned off the screensaver entirely & set
the screen to sleep after 5min. Now it doesn't lock up every time, but
still locks up. Often, the screen will wake up & the GUI will all be
frozen.
I just tried the "Alt + SysRq + r + s + e + i + u + b" trick & it
wouldn't reb
I assumed this was a bug because it started happening right after an
update. I'm not sure it is, however. I'll report back after I've figured
out how to troubleshoot it & have some results.
