(those are the only two combination I've tested ... if you want to move it,
it should go to gnome-screensaver)

also ... before calling it "invalid" against gnome-power-manager, someone
should try the combination:

I have found that using xscreensaver instead of gnome-screensaver results in
the session resumes as locked.
(Currently, it is also locking me out every time I close the lid ... but that
is less of a problem since the security problem has been resolved.)
I am also using xfce4-power-manager instea
I see this with xfce4 in 9.04.
This should be marked as a security issue.
Call me dumb, but it took me at least a month to clue in that when I suspended
my computer that I didn't need a password to resume.
During all that time my computer was insecure whenever suspended.

this problem was resolved by removing the mount point for the deleted
logical drive from ~/.gtk-bookmarks.
the drive had disappeared from the 'places' menu, but remained in that
file ...

so why is this invalid?
it is OK for nautilus to become completely useless when you change your
partitioning?
even Windows handles partitioning changes gracefully.
whether this is a urgent problem to fix, I don't think the current behaviour
is acceptable.
from the user's perspective this is a bug.
"gksu nautilus" brings it up right away
but when I navigate to "/home" ... well it has been "working" for a while
ah!
I just deleted an extended partition ... /home is now at /dev/sda5 instead of
/dev/sda6 ...
here is "mount" output:
/dev/sda4 on / type xfs (rw,relatime)
tmpfs on /lib/init/rw ty
all the "uniterruptables" are waiting on:

loging out and loging in again:
my gnome-panels don't work
"killall gnome-panel" re-drew the bottom panel, but it does not respond.
The top panel is still blank.
I have tried starting thunar from the command line, but it has not come up for
5 minutes.
in gnome-system-monitor thunar is shown as "
I just installed thunar.
While it is slow to load, say 20 seconds, it does start ...

firefox froze again when I was trying to upload the attachment ... but
when I stopped it using "System Monitor" and restarted it, it came back
and uploaded the file

if I try to start nautilus, nothing happens for a long time, then a
non-responsive nautilus window opens
