Ubuntu release: Intrepid Ibex (stock version of gdm in Intrepid)
When there is an error generated in /etc/profile, gdm crashes on user login
without any error.
To reproduce, source a non existent file in /etc/profile( add '.
/path/to/nowhere.sh' t
can you please try:
sudo apt-get clean
and then retry installing it again?

In there, in Devices tab (the first tab), select the tracks and device
which you want to control with the keyboard keys. In your case, ensure
that PCM track is selected.
This should solve your problem.
