Just to raise awareness how awkward this can turn: When I open evolution
it offers to "recover" all mail since the last start of the program,
which can be dozens of editor windows of long gone/sent Mails. Each
requires two clicks close and confirm to "discard". Any message that
actually needs recov

Searching some more, I found that gpg --decrypt foo-message.txt.gpg
launched in the terminal *will* open the gpg-agent passphrase input window.
So it seems evolution is not calling that the right way.
Checking my /var/log/apt/history.log.1.gz it could be that
things broke with 3.18.5.2-0ubuntu1

gnome-keyring_3.2.2-2ubuntu4_i386.deb
from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/i386/gnome-keyring, and extract just
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so and drop it into the
right place.
