When viewing or editing just one file, the tab created is simply a waste
of space, as the same pertinent information is provided in the title
bar.
Gedit should have a behavior/toggle similar to the "Always show the tab bar"
toggle in Mozilla's Fir

When you say that "gedit think it's a weird encoding" that is correct to assume.

Testing this file with the file command [1] always classifies this file as an

2010 has arrived. The fish doesn't lag but it still does flicker the screen
saver and the lock screen.

The intended output was supposed to be in the PNG format.

I've been getting this since the early alphas too. Documents and Desktop
is repeated, but editing the ~/.gtk-bookmarks file like Nick suggested
made it all good (sort of, "Open ~/Picturesorwhatever" is not a dandy
description).

I was having this error with my usb pens since the beta... I assumed it
was due to its beta nature!
The only way it unmount my pen disks is by going root and then umounting
them.

I just downloaded Edgy's AMD64 desktop .ISO and I'm currently using it.
Rocko's post is correct: The gateway address doesn't get stored (I'm
currently browsing through DHCP, sub-sloth speed...).
