For cups-pk-helper problems we need appropriate log files, as Sebastien

For the buttons, the "Additional printer settings" is not for adding
printers but for getting into an advanced interface (system-config-
printer). Perhaps one could rename it into "Advanced printer settings"

print dialog and clicked the preview button. The preview already shows
the problem. So the problem already occurs before the job gets to CUPS.

On the command line I have disabled a print queue and send a job to it,

original cups-pk-helper without the patch.

There is no way to adjust scaling in current Ubuntu Artful.
It has disappeared from gnome-tweaks-tool and did not get added to
gnome-settings.
My suggestion for the right place for scaling is the "Displays" section
of gnome-settings. There there should be a widget for entering a scaling
