Err, this is a totally valid bug. I have all the codes installed.
Plainly, the profiles do not work. Ripping a CD tells me that the
cdlossy profile cannot be found. Well, of course it can't; I can't even
select it from the list. I don't even necessarily know that I want that

I can confirm this bug on Gutsy. Whilst there seem to be profiles for
mp3 active (by default, though I am not sure what package provides
them), they are not selectable from withing the Sound Juicer preferences
drop-down list. This also applies to the "Voice" profiles, too, and any
profiles manually
I do not believe this is the intention of the image. The image is there
to inform the user that the software was released as a "release
candidate", not a "release condadidate". Thus this is not "fine", and
the bug is valid.
The bug report referenced above has not been updated since December
2006,

I start my session. The session loading stalls, and I open Evolution.
After a while, the session completes loading (as if it encountered a
race condition and timed out), and then I check my e-mails. Soon after,

So far, I have seen no link in the crashes except the point at which the
crash happens, and as a result I haven't found a trigger. However, bug
122875 confirms this in evolution, and probably as a result other
applications as well.

Looks like it is waiting on data from ORBit... I wouldn't be sure

Under the "Help" menu, there are options to both "Report a Problem" and
"Submit a Bug Report". As the "Report a Bug" system menu item was
changed to "Report a Problem", "Submit a Bug Report" should be removed
for reasons of jargon and confusion.

conflict (as I would not be running XFCE and GNOME at the same time),

Well, turns out that gaim dies on any attempt to save or open a file.
Think it may be something to do with the file open dialog.
Also, just trying to confirm this bug hasn't been lost in the madness.
