Indeed, hibernation doesn't work:
$ lshal | grep can_suspend
power_management.can_suspend_to_disk = false (bool)
power_management.can_suspend_to_ram = true (bool)
=> Solution: Don't show the hibernate button if it's not supported. Only sleep
I'm pretty sure we can close this [I don't know if I'm supposed to do that or
if this is the right way]
I think this was related to me symlinking /etc/X11/fonts/fonts to
/etc/X11/fonts, which is of course a very bad thing.

I can confirm this for my system. I don't have a floppy unit, but my cdrw is
always in my sidebar. CD automounting and ejecting works fine as usual.
The fstab for my cd looks like this:
/dev/hdc/media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
It was probably inserted by the breezy
Rjected for too old version of ekiga (2.0.3) upstream, but that is still
supported in Ubuntu 6.10..
