I want to confirm the problem and add some info that I did not see here: 1 - Problem occurs not only with usb/ehci-hcd, using a internal card reader (sdhci-pci) results in same slowdown 2 - It is not dependent on file-system: same speed with ext3 or vfat 3 - The problem is random, sometimes it is
