To test:
1) Have 2 files: lost.avi and lost.srt in the same directory.
2) 2 Clicks on lost.avi file inside nautilus, so it opens the default Movie
Player (Totem).
3) The movie plays but no subtitles playing.

In the screen "Add to Panel" when i select "Desktop Drapes" and then
click "Add" button it gives me the following error
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:DrapesApplet"
and ask me to delete the applet or not.
