Yes, it shows flags if indicator applet is loaded only. But what if I
don't want to use indicator applet? Is it possible to correct that?

Not sure if I have the same issue, but using Hardy, and my approx 100GB
collection of mixed FLAC, ogg, mp3 and m4a, it hangs on start up
sometimes.
If I run in debug mode on the command line, I can see its slow progress
through the collection and, if I leave it for a very long time, it

This might be a more general bug: unification of settings across Gnome

I was using totem-gstreamer (-xine not installed).
gstreamer properties was set to Autodetect for output and ALSA for
input.
with the USB camera selected as soundcard, totem and gxine both play
audio correctly (with esd running and not running, and Autodetect in the
settings.)
